Despite all the Corona chaos, tennis tournaments are also taking place in this country. From April 11th to 18th, 2021, the tennis men will be playing at the $25,000 ITF tournament Just Pools Kirschbaum International in the Teremeer in Meerbusch. Compared to the previous year, the traditional tournament has been significantly increased in terms of prize money and classification. Of course, this means that a top line-up will certainly be playing in Meerbusch, as there are significantly more ATP points up for grabs.
We are pleased to be able to accompany and support the tournament as a tournament partner
After 15 years in Kaarst, the “Just Pools Kirschbaum International” will be held for the first time in the Sport and Tennis Resort Meerbusch. The ITF World Tour men's event is growing significantly and is worth $25,000 this year from April 11th to April 18th, 2021. The event can look back on a great history, as well-known cracks such as Milos Raonic (CAN), Mischa Zverev, Peter Gojowczik, Philipp Petzschner, Maxi Marterer (all GER) or Miroslav Mecir (SLO) as well as Nikoloz Basilashvili (GEO) have already beaten there. on. The latter recently caused a sensation at the ATP 250 tournament in Doha when he defeated superstar Roger Federer in round 2 and later won the entire tournament with a 7:6 6:2 final victory over Roberto Bautista-Agut.
“We are very proud that, despite the adverse Corona circumstances, we can expand the “Just Pools Kirschbaum International” this year from $15,000 to $25,000 thanks to the support of the German Tennis Association and the ITF,” said organizer Marc Raffel. The defending champion is the Dutch Davis Cup player Igor Sijsling, who won the tournament in 2018 and 2019. Last year, the “Just Pools Kirschbaum International” was held without any world ranking points being awarded due to corona. Buvaysar Gadamauri (BEL) defeated Mick Feldherr (NED) in the final with 6:7 7:6 11:9.
The winner of the upcoming “Just Pools Kirschbaum International” will win 20 ATP world ranking points in addition to his winner’s check. Organizer Marc Raffel is also extremely satisfied with the support of the sponsors who accompany the ITF tournament. In addition to title sponsor Kirschbaum, almost all traditional partners have given the green light. There is also a new presenting partner in the Meerbusch company Just Pools and a new senior partner in the new B&B Hotel in Neuss.
By the way: The event takes place in the exclusive context of “DTB International powered by Wilson”. Before the main field of 32 from April 13th, 21 there will be a three-day qualification with 64 players (from April 11th, 21). The 16 doubles main field also starts from April 13th, 2021. “We expect that due to Corona, no or only a few spectators will be allowed, but all matches will be broadcast live on Internet TV,” said Raffel. If spectators are allowed, a day ticket will cost 15 euros.
With the German tennis shooting star Max Rehberg (17 years old) from Aschheim, an extremely interesting participant has already been chosen. Max is one of the best 30 young people in the world and is on the verge of a promising international career. Max receives a so-called wildcard from the organizer.
