When the Kirschbaum International takes place again April 21st - 28th, 2024 , then the tennis stars will be playing Tomorrow. The ITF World Tour is mainly played by young talents and up-and-coming talents who are on the verge of making it to the big ATP tour. This year the traditional tournament is something very special: tournament organizer Marc Raffel is celebrating the 20th tournament anniversary together with the organizing team and all sponsors, especially title sponsor Kirschbaum. Anything but a given in the current tournament landscape.
We are very pleased to be taking part as a tournament partner this year and wish the organizer, the spectators and the players a great and exciting tournament!
The participants from 20 years of ITF world rankings tennis in Kaarst and Meerbusch read like the who's who in tennis. Whether Milos Raonic (CAN), Sergej Bubka (UKR), Miloslav Mecir (SVK), Nikoloz Basilashvilli (GEO), Matwe Middelkoop, Botic van de Zandschulp or Igor Sijsling (all NED) have already played at the traditional world ranking tennis tournament in the Rhine district of Neuss . Recently, at the Australian Open at the end of January, a 21-year-old Frenchman by the name of Arthur Cazeaux made a name for himself by sensationally reaching the round of 16 with a win against superstar Holger Rune. And this Arthur Cazeaux reached the final of the Kirschbaum International in 2021, which he narrowly lost to the Austrian Alexander Erler.
“This shows the attractiveness and quality” of the ITF World Tennis Tour,” says organizer Marc Raffel. But the Germans also knew how to convince in Kaarst and Meerbusch again and again in the past. Julian Reister, Philipp Petzschner, Oscar Otte, Daniel Altmaier and Elmar Ejupovic caused a sensation, Mats Moraing even won the title in 2016. “There should be a lot more events like the Kirschbaum International as part of the DTB Internationals in the German tournament calendar, then we will develop them “More top German players again,” said Raffel.
And so the Kirschbaum International is celebrating from April 21st to April 28th. This year marks a proud 20th anniversary in the Meerbusch TeReMeer. “We don’t charge an entry fee until the semi-finals and finals in order to offer the surrounding tennis players and clubs free top-class tennis,” said Raffel. A ticket for the semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday costs 10 euros. A 64 qualification, a 32 singles and 16 doubles main field will be played on weekdays from 12 p.m. and on the final weekend from 1 p.m. “I would like to thank all partners and sponsors, my organizational team and the tennis professionals for a great 20 years of dedication and world-class tennis,” said Marc Raffel.
