The preparations for the Rhein Asset Open , the ATP Challenger tournament on the Rhine and Ruhr from August 8th to 15th. August 2021 in the TeReMeer in Meerbusch is in full swing. Tennis entrepreneur and tournament organizer Marc Raffel has his hands full. He particularly enjoys the participant reports. Daniel Altmaier, who is currently in top form, will be playing in Meerbusch, as will Pedro Sousa, Robin Haase, Dustin Brown, Mischa Zverev and many other well-known tennis professionals who have confirmed their participation in the tournament. We are also very much looking forward to the upcoming tournament, especially since, as in previous years, we are once again a proud tournament partner and are giving away a mega travel treat before and during the tournament short vacation at the exclusive Forte Village Resort in Sardinia
In addition to crowd favorite Dustin Brown, the Portuguese defending champion Pedro Sousa has now also announced his arrival. The 32-year-old clay court specialist won in a dramatic final against Pedja Kristin in Meerbusch in 2019. (SRB). The German shooting star Daniel Altmaier will also be playing at the Rhein Asset Open. The 22-year-old from Kempen sensationally reached the round of 16 at last year's French Open after victories against, among others, Jan-Lennard Struff and Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini. At the ATP Challenger in Braunschweig last July, Daniel confirmed his great form and won the tournament in the final against Henri Laaksonen 6:1 and 6:2.
Mischa Zverev, brother of German No. 1 Alexander Zverev, also confirmed his participation in the Rhein Asset Open. “Mischa is still involved in the world class and I am very happy about his acceptance,” said Raffel. The multiple Dutch Davis Cup player Robin Haase is also attacking this year at the Rhein Asset Open in Meerbusch. Robin already won two ATP tour titles in Kitzbühel in 2011 and 2012, his highest ATP ranking was position 33. “There is an excellent field of participants,” said Raffel, who is also in contact with Germany’s tennis star Philipp Kohlschreiber. “If Philipp doesn’t take part in the US Open preparation tournaments in Winston Salem and Washington, there may be a chance of meeting him in Meerbusch,” said Raffel.
