Tennis Brothers yet ? No? Then you'll be like me until the IsarOpen last August. Like our TennisTraveller tournament partners of the new ATP Challenger tournament at the TC Großhesselohe facility near Munich. Felix, 15 years old and Lucian, 12 years old - the two tennis brothers - spent the entire tournament week in Munich with their parents Liz and Michael, were able to gain insights into tournament life, but also spent a lot of time on the court with great sparring partners or with one another or spend another video shoot. I was able to meet the lovely tennis family from London and interview them about their activities and life as a very special TennisTraveller . And since dad Micheal is German, we also conducted the interview in German.
The two tennis-crazy brothers from London have become the most important junior influencers in tennis through social media activities.
And the whole thing started three years ago as a private initiative – that’s what my father Michael, a native of Germany, told me. At that time he wanted to make the training and tournament activities of his two boys, who are among the top nationals in their years in England, available to his circle of friends. But it quickly became clear to the parents and the two boys that their YouTube videos, Insta posts and stories were of interest to many other tennis-loving kids and tweens. The way they explained tennis-specific things simply struck a chord with young people.
And so the YouTube channel, like all other social media channels, grew quickly and can now boast a more than impressive reach. The reach is so proud that the boys can now count a whole range of sporting goods manufacturers among their sponsors, for whom they regularly carry out product tests or are invited to events.
It's no wonder that online activities are very time-consuming, especially for parents Michael and Liz. But in my interview with the very lovable and tennis-crazy family in August at the IsarOpen in Munich, all four of them revealed to us why they love their tennis life so much, even if it is busy, exhausting and requires an enormous amount of discipline from all family members. But all of this is dictated by the goal of becoming a tennis professional.
It's best to follow the different social media channels of the Tennisbrothers, which are among the channels with the highest reach in the tennis sector. Felix and Lucian have many interesting and valuable tips and tricks, especially for children who love tennis.
