South Tyrol is an absolute favorite tennis holiday destination for me. This beautiful and diverse place in the north of Italy has always been for me. I particularly liked the area around Meran. This year my family and I went to a very special place shortly before Easter. After a long time, we were finally back at the Andreus Resorts and were guests Sonnenalm I've been there so many, many times in the past. A lot has changed and yet from the first moment we felt comfortable and almost at home. Today I'm just taking you to the beautiful Passeier Valley and spending a perfect day of tennis vacation with you. Be active on the tennis and golf course, feast and enjoy everything and of course with lots of relaxation. A little bit of everything and it's particularly beautiful - simply a tennis holiday dream!
Eight o'clock, the day of vacation can begin, the breakfast buffet is calling. We have a great table right by the window and can enjoy the beautiful mountain panorama of the Passeier Valley early in the morning. A look at the three tennis courts shows that the groundskeeper is already at work preparing the courts. But first, recharge your batteries and hit the juicer to get your morning vitamin kick. Plus a freshly prepared omelet with everything, a Bircher muesli with fruit and of course a cappuccino, which the friendly service staff bring to the table. The hotel daily mail is also available and, in addition to the various sports and wellness offers in the Sonnenalm and Andreus, has a lot of other information such as excursion tips etc. ready. Our program for today has already been decided: tennis and golf.
After breakfast, put on your tennis clothes and go to the tennis court - for the first time on sand and then with such a fantastic backdrop and sunshine! It really doesn't get any better! Despite the cold at night, the pitches are in great shape and the shape is surprisingly good. A view like this simply inspires! In the Sonnenalm you can play on three sand courts , two more courts are waiting for you in the main building Andreus, approx. 1.5 kilometers away. New to the Sonnenalm is the padel court with panoramic glass right next to the tennis courts. We won't have enough paddling today - but we'll make up for it.
After sweating it out, we ride the hotel's own mountain bikes along the Passerdamm to the Andreus main building. We eat our lunch snack there on the beautiful panoramic terrace. As a guest at the Sonnenalm you can use all the facilities and services of the 5-star Hotel Andreus . So to speak, pay 4 stars and enjoy 5 stars. This is really awesome! And simply incredibly practical! A small snack, salads and lots of sweet treats such as cakes and tarts are offered at lunchtime. This is the perfect way to satisfy your small hunger. After a wonderful breather on the hotel terrace, a few steps further we meet Daniel, the golf pro, with whom we have booked an introductory golf course . In 2.5 hours, Daniel teaches us the absolute basics of putting, teeing off and chipping. Wow, that was super fun! Putting and teeing off worked quite well, but I still found chipping quite difficult. The little white ball often didn't want to play like I did. Finally, we played a few practice holes at the Passeier Golf Club. Meran, which is located directly at the Andreus Resort. All in all, a more than successful excursion into the world of golf!
From the golf course straight into the 2,500 m 2 Sauna World des Andreus while we're there! Although I'm not really a fan of large saunas, we took part in an infusion in the DOME event sauna . And what should I say! It was an absolutely brilliant show experience: with music, scents and a choreo by the sauna master that was really worth seeing! Relax afterwards in the outdoor pool and on the many comfortable loungers. Oh, how wonderful! After we had visited one or two small saunas and one of the steam baths, we went back to the Sonnenalm by bike.
By the way, the Sonnenalm also has a wonderful wellness area with a swimming pool, sauna and daily event infusions. Everything smaller, but just as beautiful and relaxing.
An absolute culinary highlight awaits us in our Sonnenalm in the evening: the 5-course gourmet menu . which is simply amazing in terms of taste and appearance! The vegetarian version for our son was also a dream! Add the right wine accompaniment - feast like the tennis god in South Tyrol! With a little nightcap at the bar, a perfect tennis holiday day in the Sonnenalm with an all-round brilliant mix of tennis, other sports, relaxation and delicious food! Get into your comfortable, cozy bed and look forward to the next day of your holiday in Passeiertag!
Then let’s head to the beautiful Andreus Resorts. There you can choose between the 5-star Hotel Andreus with two clay courts and the 4-star Hotel Sonnenalm with three clay courts, where I stayed with my family. Both are simply wonderful tennis holiday destinations where you can indulge yourself on every level.
