"You can't imagine how happy I am about winning, I'm overwhelmed with joy!" - that was Mario's reaction when we informed him in April that he was our ROBINSON club and camp tester for the ROBINSON Club Sarigerme Park on the Turkish Aegean. From October 25th to November 1st, 2019 Mario finally went to Turkey. In addition to a full week of all-inclusive accommodation made by ROBINSON, a tennis camp awaited him with ROBINSON brand ambassador and top tennis expert Nicolas Kiefer . Yes, and what should we say? We don't say anything, we just let Mario "speak". Wait - let's just say something quick: have fun reading!!
"On Friday evening we arrived at the Robinson Club Sarigerme Park at 9 p.m. We were warmly welcomed by the Robins, with Turkish flags waving and cool drinks. After the very tasty buffet dinner we went to the beach and had a look the party of surfers and sailors.
The next day we were divided into groups based on ability levels. Training was always alternated. One group started at 9:00 a.m., the other at 10:30 a.m. and the groups took turns every day. While the first group trained basic strokes with Nicolas Kiefer (Kiwi), the second group trained with Jens for endurance training and the third group with Tim trained coordination and footwork.
The intensity of the training was constantly increased and as the training camp continued, the exercises became more demanding day by day. The boys did it very personably and professionally and were also able to give good tips such as bending your knees more when doing topspin or hitting the ball more instead of waiting for it, swinging less when volleying or throwing the ball when serving to throw more forward, etc.
Not only the intensity of the training but also the tips and techniques such as double technique, footwork, serve techniques, return techniques, volley technique and tactical understanding of the game were conveyed very well by the three trainers. Even circuit training took place after normal training.
The conditions in the club couldn't have been better. Both the weather, which was consistently 25-28°, and the material, from tennis rackets to surfboards, volleyball nets and the perfectly maintained tennis courts, were top class. The staff in the club were friendly everywhere. Both the tennis instructors and surfing instructors, other Robins from the entertainment and especially the staff in the dining area were always friendly and helpful.
In addition, the Robinson Club Sarigerme Park offers great views of the beautiful sea everywhere and there are plenty of sun loungers such as daybeds, sun loungers, etc. throughout the club.
You can watch an enchanting sunset and drink a sundowner on the chillout lawn or at the water sports bar. The food is outstanding from morning to evening and offers something for every taste, from freshly grilled fish and meat to a variety of vegetarian dishes and delicious desserts.
In the evenings, the club was rebuilt every day according to a theme and prepared for a party. No matter whether it was Grease, Halloween, Black Angels, Blue White Carpet Night, Turkish Evening, there was always a new motto celebrated and staged with love. The meeting point is in the evening at the chess board and you could dance there until midnight. The night owls then went to the nightclub.
All in all, I can recommend the tennis camp and the club to anyone who wants the combination of good food, loving people and top-class sport, and I will definitely take part in a tennis camp again.
