We have been traveling as travel scouts ourselves for a long time and spent a tennis weekend at the Tennishotel Krone Schnetzenhausen . Tennis training took place at the Power the Ball tennis academy under the direction of Mathias Messmer and Niki Ferrari. Read about everything we experienced in my detailed Travel Scout report. And that was quite a lot. Active, relaxing, enjoyable and educational, personal and inspiring. And we didn't just bring home many beautiful moments and great experiences. Friday afternoon near Stuttgart, tennis bags and travel bags are packed and off the Köpf tennis family heads towards Lake Constance for a short tennis vacation at the Tennis Hotel Krone Schnetzenhausen . Schnetzenhausen is part of Friedrichshafen, the Zeppelin city on Lake Constance. Here in the border triangle, Germany, Austria and Switzerland border Lake Constance and offer a wonderful holiday destination with the lake, the mountain scenery and the wine and orchards. And this is especially true for us TennisTraveller , because with the Krone Schnetzenhausen we have discovered a tennis hotel that, thanks to the cooperation with the Power the Ball tennis academy, is a real insider tip for a year-round tennis holiday.
A stone's throw from Stuttgart, just over two hours' drive, you go via the impressive entrance of the 4-star superior hotel directly to the private underground parking space. The entrance hall of the hotel is also impressive, and the reception at reception is very warm. Our rooms are in the Landhaus Krone , the newest of the four buildings. Both our double room and especially the family suite are extremely spacious, wonderfully cozy and brightly furnished. The quiet location is simply wonderful, no wonder, as the hotel's own orchards begin directly behind the country house.
Since the food at the Krone was particularly praised TennisTraveller And we can unanimously agree with the verdict of our TennisTraveller : the 5-course menu is extremely tasty , beautifully arranged and presented, and the service is simply excellent. Our two vegetarians particularly like the fact that there is a separate vegetarian menu for the evening .
After a good night's sleep in wonderfully comfortable beds, we start the day of tennis on Saturday with a detailed breakfast with everything your heart desires. At 10 a.m. we go to the hotel's tennis hall. Two courts with carpeted velor floors and Niki Ferrari , one of the two owners of the Power the Ball tennis academy, await us. After a warm-up with neuro-athletic exercises, the three kids go full throttle with Niki. All shots are played through, with Niki giving lots of tactical tips. The two-hour training session goes by in a flash. Niki is very motivating, knows how to get the kids excited right from minute one and shows them different facets of game tactics.
After a short lunch break, we continue in the afternoon with a 1.5 hour match training session under the supervision of Mathias Messmer , owner of the tennis academy. With a trained eye and years of experience, Mathias can quickly see where the kids' strengths and weaknesses lie. Mathias helps the kids to apply mental routines in matches EFA method Relax - focus - accept - with regular feedback from Mathias, the kids will immediately achieve their first successes.
In the meantime I get to Diana Möller . Diana runs the business in Krone Schnetzenhausen together with her brother. Under the management of her parents, the Krone has expanded from a house with 10 rooms to one of the leading hotels on Lake Constance with today 145 rooms . reputation for excellent cuisine that goes far beyond the region , in which regionality and seasonality play an important role. Today the hotel complex consists of four different houses , all of which are connected to each other underground. So each building is unique, has its own furnishing style and yet everything is connected to each other via short distances. In conversation with Diana, the love for the house, for tradition and for being a host becomes palpable. And this spirit is lived by every employee in the company, and great importance is attached to it. And as a guest you can feel that in a very pleasant, professional and calm way.
After tennis training, us adults first relax in the wellness area. In addition to a beautiful indoor swimming pool , there are two large log cabin saunas, a wonderful royal salt salarium, a steam bath and an infrared cabin. You can relax perfectly in the beautiful relaxation rooms, some with water beds! The children, on the other hand, are still active and have fun on the cardio and strength machines in the fitness room.
The second evening menu is also simply wonderful. We had the perfect end to the day of tennis in the Kronenbar with a game of billiards and a cool cocktail from the almost endless cocktail menu.
The last two-hour training session was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. The young Albanian national player Mario starts off with a demanding warmup. And the rest of the training is sweaty and very intense. The Power the Ball tennis academy has access to very strong trainers all year round, who are part of the coaching staff performance camps for ambitious young tournament players A wonderful mix of experienced and young trainers consistently at a very high level and a broad spectrum of technology, tactics, athletics and mental aspects - that's how it has to be at a tennis academy. In the summer, Power the Ball trains in the nearby Immenstaad, Oberteuringen and Ailingen tennis clubs with a total of 23 clay courts , all of which are quickly and easily accessible from the hotel. For example, the summer sports camps for children also take place there - a multi-sports and creative week for kids, where tennis is of course not neglected.
After training, the travel bags were packed again and checked out. Before we head back towards Stuttgart, we have to make a detour to Lake Constance. No problem from the Landhaus Krone - because you can reach various beaches and beautiful towns in just a few minutes. We chose Immenstaad and enjoyed some sea air with a mountain panorama before heading home.
An all-round successful tennis weekend with the family with great training at the Power the Ball tennis academy in Tennis Hotel Krone Schnetzenhausen. A hotel that we can only recommend to everyone. And it made us want to visit in summer, because then Lake Constance is particularly beautiful with its high leisure and relaxation factor!
