In June, two international UTR Pro Tennis Tour tournaments will take place at the PMTR/KHTC Mülheim facility on Mintarder Straße: from Monday, June 13th. – Sun. June 19th a women's and from Sun. June 26th. – Sun. 03.07. a men's tournament. Since mid-2021, the PMTR Tennis Academy in Mülheim an der Ruhr has been the German partner of the UTR International Pro Tennis Tour (PTT) as part of its European expansion. This is an international tournament series of Universal Tennis from the USA.
The aim of the UTR Pro Tennis Tour (PTT) tournament concept is to offer aspiring professional players worldwide an international tournament with many matches through group games and at the same time to support them financially through attractive prize money totaling 20,000 US dollars per competition.
“The concept of the UTR PTT is absolutely convincing and is very popular with the players. The feedback from participants in the last four tournaments we have organized has been consistently positive. We were very happy about that,” said Uwe Schumann (PMTR), tournament director of the UTR PTT Germany.
Feedback from previous participants was that the tournament week, which was full of matches, was very attractive as it was good training for the toughness of the competition while at the same time guaranteeing prize money even for the last placed ones.
With court maintenance, accompanying physiotherapy, drinks and fruit directly on the courts, international chair referees and live stream, all players will find optimal conditions. For all spectators, this means being able to watch top tennis by young professionals - with free entry - live in Mülheim or online in the live stream.
Half of the participants in the previous UTRs are ranked between 240 and 1572 in the world rankings. Antonia Balzert, who is familiar with the PMTR as a former training facility, will be there again, as well as Leonie Möller (DTB 118), Emelie Schwarte and Natalia Siedliska (WTA 693, DTB 35).
It is played in round-robin group stages;
That means there are four games a day on two pitches. The semi-finals will be played on Saturday and the finals on Sunday. In the playoff rounds of the semi-finals and finals, the respective group finishers play against each other to determine their respective rankings. The first placed teams will play in the semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday to determine the overall tournament winner. The tournament starts every day from 8 a.m. Admission is free.
