Second travel bag in TennisTraveller test: the Yonex Pro Trolley travel bag
Travel bag number two is at the start inour 2018 travel bag test: theYonex Pro Trolley travel bag. We have taken a close look at this travel bag and rate the piece of luggage according to various criteria. That's our subjective opinion, of course. That's why we'll definitely get a second opinion from you. Or better said: from a TennisTraveller who, with a bit of luck, will win the Yonex travel bag.
You can find out how this works and what you have to do below! It's definitely worth taking part!
Many thanks at this point toTennis-Point , who gave us this travel bag free of charge for testing and raffle - there must be so much time!
And now let's start with the description:
Appearance & Design
The Yonex travel bag is very simple and slightly elegant: a black travel bag with the Yonex lettering in gold. The inner lining is apple green - a really nice contrast to the solid black - but you can only see it when the bag is open.
Like the previously introduced Dunlop travel bag, the design of the travel bag will certainly not blow your mind.
But: the color of the bag is certainly great for frequent travelers, as you simply can't see every stain.
Basic features & trolley on the run
The material of the bag makes a very sturdy impression. The travel bag does not collapse completely even when unloaded because the material is quite thick and robust.
The telescopic handle can be extended in two steps up to a maximum of 30 cm at the push of a button - runs cleanly, quietly and smoothly. The rubber wheels are well incorporated into the base of the travel bag. The base of the travel bag is well reinforced, with a removable plastic insert inside the bag providing additional stability.
If the bag is to be worn once, there are two very long carrying straps that can be "velcroed" together. There is another handle on the side of the bag, which also has the telescopic handle. Even when the travel bag is completely loaded, it doesn't tip over easily - this is ensured by two holding points on the side of the bag opposite the telescopic rod.
Size, dimensions and weight
The Yonex travel bag is slightly smaller than the previously introduced Dunlop travel bag .
The basic dimensions in brief: approx. 36 cm wide, 80 cm long and max. 34 cm high. The volume of the travel bag is given as 98 liters. With an empty weight of just under 5 kilos, the bag is quite heavy - especially in relation to its volume.
division
When it comes to evaluating the layout, we can keep it quite short: the Yonex Travelbag has a single, large compartment . Zip up, load in, done. If you are traveling with the travel bag, you will most likely unpack the contents of the bag almost completely - otherwise there will be absolute bag chaos. Our daughter is new to this travel bag and we have had it "on tour" a few times - and have actually always unpacked and repacked the entire contents at the hotel. The internal mesh partitions do little to improve order.
On the outside you have the option of storing a few small items in a small pocket with a two-way zipper so that you can always have them to hand.
There is another compartment with a two-way zipper along the entire length of the bag on the outside - this is quite practical and you can either store a few clothes or smaller tennis accessories such as strings, grips, etc. here.
The Yonex Travelbag is a large, yet handy travel bag that you can cleverly pull behind you thanks to the trolley function! But we give it a deduction because it doesn't really offer much in terms of layout! for all TennisTraveller who don't have a strong sense of order or who don't mind a bit of clutter in their bag. Another small point of criticism is the zippers, which don't seem quite as "liquid" when used as we know from other bags.
And of course a video in which we briefly introduce you to the bag in “live operation”.
