Stefan Eriksson began his professional career in 1985. As a qualifier, he reached the round of 16 at the clay court tournament in Boston. His greatest individual success on the ATP World Tour, ATP Vienna, reaching the quarterfinals in Basel and the Challenger tournament in Cherbourg. His best doubles result was participation in the semi-finals in Toulouse in 1985 alongside Peter Lundgren. He achieved his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1987 with position 72 in singles and in 1986 with position 110 in doubles.
His best singles result at a Grand Slam tournament was qualifying for the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. After his professional career ended, he played on the Seniors Tour, where he achieved his best placing of 17th at the end of 2000.
He now works as a coach at the Bavarian Tennis Association.
Patrick Sommer knows what he is talking about, as the coach, who was born in Neu-Ulm in September 1976, was a player on the ATP tour from 1997 to 2001. He played in the Bundesliga and the Austrian Superliga and was German team champion both as a junior and as an adult.
After his career as an active player, he worked as a coach and manager to look after the well-being of some German players, including Davis Cup player Alexander Waske, and looked after them both physically and mentally.
He is a trained DTB-A trainer, A-Trainer Swiss Tennis, IST sports manager and holder of the license for cardio tennis. Until 2008 he was a district base trainer in Munich.
Markus Wislsperger's training philosophy: "Hard work, combined with fun and a certain level of relaxedness." He has had great success with it. He led Philipp Kohlschreiber to his first victory on the ATP tour at the BWM Open 2007. He discovered tennis very late, but got into it even more intensively. At 16 he was Bavarian youth champion and at that time his training center was already at the BTV performance center in Oberhaching. After initial success, the Lower Bavarian decided to become a professional player. He was active in the professional circuit until 2004, before he became a tour coach for the TennisBase Oberhaching in a smooth transition. Among others, he worked with Daniel Brands, Florian Mayr and Philip Kohlschreiber. He is one of the few coaches in the world to hold the highly respected title of “PTCA Certified Master Professional, Gold Member”.
