Our travel scout Amrei was spoiled for choice in February: as our Mediterranean travel scout, she was allowed to choose between a week at the Ali Bey Resort in Turkey or at the tennis hotel Bluesun Grand Hotel Elaphusa on the island of Brač in Croatia. Both wonderful destinations from Patricio Travel , which made this Travelscout raffle possible for us. Amrei was in Croatia with her tennis friend Nadine in the summer and sent us a nice travel report with great photos. Just let yourself be kidnapped for a moment...
"The journey from Munich was super unproblematic and quick! With a flight and direct ferry from the airport to Bol, it was really quick. When we arrived at the hotel, where we had a great room with a sea view, we first did a lap and checked out the tennis courts, which are directly adjacent to the hotel. A huge, beautiful landscaped area on the hillside with incredible views of the vineyards and the sea.
There was a rich breakfast buffet in the hotel, we could always sit outside on the terrace, enjoy the morning sun and stock up on great fruit, cheese, eggs, etc.
Afterwards we went to tennis - we played for 2-3 hours every day and really enjoyed ourselves. Such a luxury, without time pressure, without stress, without a clock, to play until you just can't do it anymore. The area was quite empty in the morning and we always managed to find a place. Of course we took full advantage of that!
We went straight from the site to the beach, where we relaxed. The water was great - clear and refreshing without being too cold. It was August: hot and crowded, but that was much less disruptive than expected. We felt totally good and comfortable. There are great sundowner bars nearby, where we often went in the late afternoon to watch the (kite) surfers, listen to music and enjoy a beer.
We went back to the hotel for dinner, it was delicious and colorful, there was really something for every taste. We even discovered really great wines from the island, really tasty and surprising, which are hard to find exported. In the village there is even a wine bar on the waterfront from a winery where you can sit and drink really fine wine. These wines are also sold in the hotel and we received great advice from very nice cellars.
Although we quickly got into our lazy holiday rhythm, we also managed to go for a walk, which was very worth it - the landscape is really breathtaking! We even picked fresh figs, had incredible views and reached bays where there wasn't a soul.
After our week in Bol, which flew by, we went to Split for one more night, which was far too touristy for us, although it is of course very beautiful. We then just took a walk outside and watched the boys cliff diving and enjoyed the last view of the beautiful sea before we went to the airport and back home.
The week was truly unforgettable and we are very grateful to have experienced it!"
