At the end of September the time had come: Andreas, who had won our one-week research stay at the ROBINSON Club Djerba Bahiya , flew to the Tunisian island with his daughter. Was the stay for our two club testers a dream tennis vacation from 1001 Nights ? Of course, we don't want to withhold the beautiful travel report with some images from you. The two of them definitely had a great week and we’re really happy about that!
Compared to other ROBINSON clubs, the one on Djerba is significantly smaller in terms of area than many others. But you could only tell from a few things on site. For example, there is no amphitheater outside, but “only” an indoor theater below the main bar. But there were some very entertaining performances with singing and, above all, successful dance performances of various kinds.
There should be no shortage
of sports options The 3 beach volleyball courts right near the beach were very popular. Once a week the Robins seem to play a tournament against a selection of guests. This extends to various sports; in addition to beach volleyball, there were also competitions in water polo and archery.
The focus for us tennis players was certainly the sports bar with the 7 tennis courts, 2 of which were floodlit , which is a big advantage given the still quite high temperatures at the end of September if you don't want to sweat in the sun.
the quality of the ash pitches as very good , as I was able to play on 4 different pitches myself. Within the sports bar you had the opportunity to register as a guest looking for other teammates. Of course, there were also get-to-know-you events where you could quickly meet new teammates and then arrange to meet up for the following day.
A highlight should actually be the tournament that takes place once a week .
Unfortunately, the very strong wind thwarted our plans that day. Although most of the games took place as planned, under these circumstances we had at least 2 opponents at the same time, the person opposite and the wind, which very regularly deviated the ball from its intended trajectory. So the whole tournament was over much earlier than planned. At least the weather conditions were normal again for the finals.
Since it rained a lot one day this week, it was a good opportunity to test out the fitness area . Here ROBINSON offers high-quality equipment on which most muscle areas can be trained very well. A small highlight here was the view of the 2 front tennis courts , so that in dry weather you could still watch the tennis players even while they were doing strength training.
Otherwise, there were various fitness courses on offer, which were usually mostly attended by women, although “courageous” men also sometimes took part.
The food was really plentiful in selection and good in quality, be it the starters, the varied main courses in the restaurant or the extensive desserts as dessert, there should be nothing missing!
All in all, it was a really nice week with lots of nice acquaintances and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
