The Hotel Spitzerberg is located 50 kilometers east of Vienna and 25 kilometers west of Bratislava in a beautiful, secluded location at the Spitzerberg Aviation Center in Lower Austria . It is just 30 kilometers from the hotel, which is located outside the small community of Hundsheim, to Lake Neusiedl. The hotel reopened in 2020 after an extensive renovation. Since 1929 it had mainly been accommodation for student pilots and pilots, but after it reopened it became a chic hotel and excursion destination . Ikarus restaurant is located in the hotel . A restaurant right next to an airfield couldn't have a more apt name, could it? The restaurant is open every day and offers warm cuisine at lunchtime and in the evening. Varied Austrian as well as creative, international dishes are on the chef's menu, which changes weekly. If you fancy a piece of cake with a coffee at coffee time, you will find it here. When the weather is nice, the wonderful restaurant terrace open, from which you have a spectacular view of the gliders and motor planes flying in and out.

And that's not all: the terrace is right next to the tennis courts, so you don't miss any rallies and can order a well-deserved cold drink straight after the match.

the striking Hundsheimer Berg , which is very close to the hotel. It is ideal either for climbing or for a circular hike. From here you can let your gaze wander over the Danube in the border triangle of Austria-Hungary-Slovakia, especially at sunrise and sunset. The town of Hainburg with its castle ruins is also a nice excursion destination. The castle complex on the Schlossberg itself is worth seeing, but also Hainburg's 2.5 kilometer long city wall, three preserved gates and a total of 15 towers date from the 13th century and today form one of the oldest and best preserved city fortifications in Europe.
