Last weekend the time had come: Nicola, our winner of the tennis family research stay, the Hotel ROYAL X in Seeboden on Lake Millstätter See in Carinthia with her husband and son Unfortunately, the weather in Carinthia was more than bad that weekend, but that didn't stop the tennis family from spending two wonderful days in the hotel and being active in the tennis hall and all the other facilities.
Since we were on holiday in Carinthia ourselves ( »to the travel report ), I drove to Seeboden without further ado to talk to Nicola. Just listen for yourself!
After her return, Nicola gave us an overall assessment of her research stay, which we of course don't want to withhold from you:
The Hotel Royal X in Carinthia definitely has a good price-performance ratio! Visually, the hotel is rather modern and “clean”. The rooms are spacious, clean and offer plenty of storage space. Even in a double room with an extra bed, you don't step on each other's toes. The dining room is bright and friendly, but also rather “clean”! If you like it cozy, this is the wrong place for you. If a quick sports breakfast (good bread, fruit and muesli) is enough for you with a view of the lake through the large glass window front and you don't mind cleaning up yourself on holiday, this is the right place for you! Unfortunately we can't say anything about dinner. Since the dining room was booked for a wedding on the evening of our stay, we should have eaten in a seminar room! A very big minus point for me! So we ate out of the house. Another negative point for me is that there is unfortunately no bar or other nice lounge where you can sit together while on holiday!
As a “tennis family” we naturally had a particular eye on the tennis offering! Since it only rained over the weekend, we had to go indoors!
The hotel definitely scores points here, because it has a really nice 3-compartment hall (carpet/granules). The other indoor options that we were able to use were the fitness room (everything you need was there, but in the basement and not particularly inviting) and the swimming pool (bright and large with a large window front overlooking the lake). The sauna, which overall made a decent impression, was unfortunately not heated despite the outside temperature of 11 degrees, which was a shame on a rainy day with limited leisure activities.
And what about the leisure activities outside? Unfortunately, since Carinthia was drowned in rain this weekend, we weren't able to try any of it out! Visually, the various sports fields and the hotel's own beach (meadow) made a very good impression! Only the fact that there is only one clay court makes it not that attractive TennisTraveller
My conclusion: Recommended especially for youth and sports groups who are looking for a functional yet modern small hotel for a small budget!

By the way, you can wonderful tennis and ski holiday Hotel ROYAL X over the winter - numerous ski areas are easily accessible. In winter, the hotel also offers two winter packages for groups (6 or 5 days) at really attractive conditions. The tennis hall is always open to you, so tennis and skiing can be easily combined here!
Or you can be completely spontaneous and secure the autumn bargain for two, where the second person goes on holiday for free. And the area is a really great hiking paradise in autumn!
