In June, on the occasion of the Terra Wortmann Open 2022, we were looking for a travel scout to test the COURT Hotel in Halle in Westphalia .
Marc from Trier was the lucky winner who, in addition to a travel voucher for two people, also received DUNLOP FX 500 LS racquet You can read how Marc experienced his "first time on grass", how he liked the tennis hotel and what he says about the new racket in his detailed Travelscout report. Have lots of fun with it!
"When we arrived in Halle (Westphalia) on Friday around 2 p.m. after a four-hour drive, the sun came out immediately after it had rained repeatedly during the trip. First we took a leisurely look at the entire facility around the OWL Arena and were immediately thrilled. The rain protection tarpaulins had just been removed from the grass pitches and we were able to get a first impression of the grass pitches, where we were later able to gain our first experiences.
We then explored the Court Hotel and were immediately impressed by the whole atmosphere. We received a very friendly welcome at reception and were allowed to move into our Comfort Deluxe double room after a short wait. And what can I say: a dream. Spacious, spacious and modern furnishings, great amenities, comfortable and large bed, what more could you want?!
We couldn't stay in our room for too long because we had already booked a lawn pitch at 4 p.m. So we made our way to the sports park to register for the tennis lesson. We were really excited and full of anticipation about what it would feel like to play on grass, as it was a first for us. It immediately felt great to play tennis on grass and, surprisingly, we got used to the new surface relatively quickly. So we were able to fully enjoy the two hours of lawn tennis on a well-kept court. Since there was a men's LK tournament this weekend, all eight grass courts were occupied and we watched one or two matches afterwards.
After dinner we visited the pool and sauna area to end the day. The light-flooded bathing area with the integrated seating niches and bubble loungers doesn't promise too much and invites you to relax. The water is pleasantly warm and ideal for swimming and relaxing. This is how you can end the day.
After a comfortable night's sleep, we headed out for breakfast the next morning around 8:30am. It was only a few meters from our room on the ground floor and we could admire the breakfast buffet. And there wasn't too much promise, it was a balanced, vital breakfast. There was something for every taste and the staff was also very friendly. Nothing was left to be desired and so we were able to start the day strengthened.
After celebrating a successful premiere on grass, we now tried out the hard court. It was also a completely new experience for us, but we got along quickly there too. Overall, you have to say that it was significantly more strenuous for the body than on grass. After an intensive training session, we deserved a short break with a cool drink. We watched games on the other pitches before we had another hour ahead of us on one of the two clay pitches.
To put it bluntly: I have never played on such a wonderful clay pitch! I've been playing Medenspiele for 30 years, but I've never seen a clay court like this. You didn't have to water the course, even though it was hot and dry in Halle, there were no errors or holes, just great! It was just a lot of fun to be able to play on this course. Only recommended!
In the afternoon we made extensive use of the Court Hotel's swimming and sauna area to relax and unwind. Swimming wasn't neglected either, so we had a really sporty day. Towards the evening we made our way to the city center to explore the city a bit and have a leisurely dinner.
Unfortunately, on Sunday morning it was time to say goodbye again. After we had a hearty and leisurely breakfast, we said goodbye to the friendly staff at reception and set off to take part in an LK tournament in Westphalia. After successfully collecting a few LK points, we finally made our way home from a great weekend.
Overall, it can be said that it was an all-round successful weekend. The exclusive tennis hotel with its ambience and excellent facilities, the delicious food, the tennis courts and the entire facility in very good condition. We can only recommend the Court Hotel in Halle (Westphalia) to everyone, including families with children, although perhaps not necessarily with small children.
A big, heartfelt thank you to the entire team for these great moments and experiences! And the DUNLOP racket is simply TOP!"
