If you can combine your studies with your beloved sport of tennis, the whole thing could actually become your very own personal American dream. With a tennis scholarship, this dream can come true, even if you are not one of the absolute top players and top earners.
In 2023, we described our daughter Mia's entire path to a tennis scholarship in the USA from the initial idea to the flight there in a blog series here on our blog. And that from a parent's perspective, because we as parents are very important companions on this big journey. After all, there are a lot of things to take into account: from the language test, the application video, the interviews with the coaches to a lot of administrative tasks.
I hope that all of this information can be of some help to parents in the same situation!

Well, have you already tried padel tennis, the new trend sport? I played padel for the first time many years ago while on holiday on the Costa del Sol in Spain. The weather was cloudy, the urge to move was great, but the tennis equipment was at home. By chance we discovered a tennis club with padel courts. So we went in, borrowed padel rackets and the fun began! It was a perfect holiday treat back then! And on one or two tennis holidays I was able to pick up a padel racket and was always fascinated by this sport. So many things are very similar to tennis, but there are many types of strokes and game tactics that are unfamiliar to us tennis players.
In our topic special we want to introduce you to the trend sport of padel and of course also introduce you to padel camps and tennis hotels with padel courts. Because one thing is certain: tennis and padel are a perfect racket sport double! On vacation or at home.

At Easter 2023 we were on the Croatian island of Lošinj. The Ljubicic Tennis Academy located in Veli Lošinj since 2021. Our son Tom took part in five days of intensive training and I wrote a camp diary about it. Hopefully you can get a good impression of how a tennis camp at the Academy works, what was good and what was perhaps not so good.
And of course not only what happened on and off the tennis court during the camp is described. We will also show you the wonderful holiday options that await you on the “Vitality Island” with its healing climate. Of course, this primarily includes the Vitality Hotel Punta , our camp hotel, to which the Academy is directly connected.

Exclusive - that's what the TennisTraveller camps should be and are, in many ways. Because they take place in one of our TennisTraveller hotels , they always have a “ special coach ”, a very specific camp theme and one or more special side events .

Tennis holidays in Carinthia - the regional special with many Carinthian tennis hotels, tennis camps and tennis stories What do you associate with Carinthia? One or two tennis camps come to mind...
What do you associate with Carinthia? I immediately think of one or two tennis camps to prepare for the season in my youth. Or summer holidays at Lake Faak with wonderful swimming and mountain experiences with the family. And of course a hot match or two on one of the many tennis courts. Yes, and there are a whopping 600 outdoor and 80 indoor tennis courts . Enough space to let off steam.
Carinthia's mild climate is ideal for spending your season preparation in Carinthia. A great alternative to other destinations such as Mallorca, Lake Garda or Turkey. On the one hand, you can usually the red ash in Carinthia from April onwards . And on the other hand, there are many tennis halls that offer you a great alternative in bad weather - you don't find that everywhere!
The outdoor tennis season in Carinthia runs until October : enough time to spend a wonderful tennis holiday in Carinthia with family or friends. Aside from the tennis court, the region offers you so many options: be it in one of the over 200 warm swimming lakes or in the mountains, which are ideal for hiking or mountain biking.
Not to mention the numerous golf courses with such wonderful landscapes. But of course you can also have a quieter holiday in Carinthia away from the tennis courts.
