Fifth and last day of training in the tennis camp of the European Tennis Academy Naturns in South Tyrol. What about the early bird? The kids didn't catch the worm this morning at 8:30 a.m. - but they learned a lot about tactical moves in individual games . And bravely and full of motivation, we braved the cold and tiredness in the early morning!
Under sunny skies, we went to the courts in Naturns at 10 a.m. on day 4 - with coach Joe from the European Tennis Academy . Today there will be a very special entry in the camp diary - because today our Mia wrote the diary entry herself. Are you also excited to see what a day at camp looks like from a child’s perspective? Then read quickly!
Training on the third day of the tennis camp with the European Tennis Academy in Naturns started at 8:30 a.m. today. The sun was shining, but it was still pretty cold. The team therefore decided together to complete the first unit indoors.
Today's training day should be dedicated to the topic of "serve and return" - two shots without which it is difficult to win. And despite this knowledge, they are not practiced enough in so many training sessions today - especially the return.
The weather gods were n't quite kind European Tennis Academy Since it was just 8 degrees plus at 10 a.m. and an icy wind was blowing, coach Alex decided to move the training indoors. It's great that this was possible - the beautiful and bright 4-seat hall with carpet and granulate is of course ideal for this.
After the warm-up with ball coordination exercises, the kids were not only warm, but also completely “there” in terms of attention. Today the topic was “Minimize Unforced Error - Gain More Security” . Loose hitting in a small field with directions worked quite well without errors with the goal of playing 3 balls back and forth at least 60 times.
Day 1 at the tennis camp with the European Tennis Academy in Naturns in South Tyrol. At the start of training the sun actually shone, but the temperatures weren't really spring-like. But that didn't dampen the good mood of the three motivated tennis kids at the start of the tennis camp.
Alex greeted the kids and we started with a relaxed thumping in the small field. As soon as you hit from the baseline, two so-called focus points set: exhaling while hitting and loosely following through with the hit into the final position . The children should concentrate on these two focal points from now on.
