On Court Recipe: Don't run out of breath with the chocolate energy balls
Today there is a very special on court recipe for us: the chocolate energy balls . During the match, the little balls give you the power you need, taste delicious and are really quick and easy to make yourself. You know what's in it: healthy ingredients and lots of ENERGY. This is how you get the next point!
Ingredients for 10-12 balls
- 120g roasted hazelnuts or almonds or a mixture of both
- 60g Medjool dates
- 60g Deglet Nour dates
- 15g liquid coconut oil (best melted in a water bath)
- 2-3 tbsp pure cocoa powder
- 45g almond butter (or almond butter)
- a pinch of vanilla
preparation
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor until the mixture is sticky enough to form balls.
- If you like, leave small pieces of nuts for more crunch, so chop them less finely.
- Store the balls in the refrigerator or chill for about 1 hour and then enjoy.
- Will keep in the fridge for at least 3-4 weeks.
- If you don't have time to form balls, you can press the entire mixture into a rectangular shape and cut it into small pieces after cooling.
The energy balls are a great snack during the match, but can of course also be eaten before and after. Thanks to the dates and the fructose they contain, sugar (energy) quickly enters our blood and ensures that we reach the next stop effortlessly!
The consistency of the energy balls is best achieved by mixing the types of dates Medjool (very juicy) and Deglet-Nour. If you only want to use one type, then I recommend the Medjool.
